Extraction of Nucleic Acids

General Information

High quality DNA and RNA are a central success factor when entrusting ATLAS Biolabs with SNP genotyping or expression profiling services. ATLAS Biolabs offers to carry out extraction of nucleic acids from various human sources and animal tissues for all customers who do not want to spend their time in these routine procedures.

Service Range

  • DNA isolation from blood and saliva (based on Oragene DNA system)
  • RNA extraction from animal cell cultures and animal tissues

Quality Control

ATLAS Biolabs is certified according to the international
standards ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 13485. Our production processes are subject to rigorous quality control at all steps:

  • RNA quality is verified on an Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer by
    calculating RIN (RNA integrity number) values. RNA quantity
    is determined photometrically. In addition, OD260/280 and
    OD 260/230 ratios are measured.
  • DNA quality is verified on a standard agarose gel. DNA quantity is determined photometrically. In addition, OD260/280 and OD 260/230 ratios are measured.

Reporting

Customers receive a full report including

  • All QC parameters (RIN for RNA, OD260/280, OD260/230)
  • Agarose gel images for DNA
  • Concentration and total amount of nucleic acid
