Since its invention in the late 1980s, DNA microarrays have evolved into a mature technique offering a variety of fascinating possibilities. Hundreds of thousands of transcripts can be detected simultaneously on a single array as small as a thumb nail. Expression profiling can be focused on genes, on exons, or - completely unbiased - on the whole transcriptome by using tiling array designs. Various multiplexing levels are available as well as different oligonucleotide design strategies in order to detect gene expression with the highest sensitivity and specificity.
ATLAS Biolabs is a manufacturer-independent provider of chip-based expression profiling services. As such, we dispose of all three major expression profiling platforms (Affymetrix, Agilent, Illumina).
